Things kick off this Sat., May 14 from 1-4 p.m. when the city will shut down a portion of Oliver Lewis Way for Streetfest. You heard that right — no cars, pedestrians only. Members of the community are invited to celebrate spring + shared public spaces by biking, scooting, walking, or dancing their way downtown.
The day will include family-friendly activities such as fitness classes from the High Street YMCA, a hula hoop competition, and a slow bike race. There will also be food vendors like Nathan’s Taqueria, drinks from Lexington Brewing & Distilling Company + more.
It’s not every day that a portion of downtown is blocked off from cars. Be sure to get out there + enjoy it. |

Editor's pick: My husband loves to ride his bike, but I'm a total scaredy cat when it comes to riding downtown. Where's a quiet + flat place for a beginner like me to go for a spin? Let me know. Also, I'm pretty sure Aaron's son could smoke me in a race...there's only one way to find out, right?
