Active - Goat Yoga on The Farm | Sat., Aug. 6 + Sat., Aug. 13 | 9-10 a.m. | The Kentucky Castle, 230 Pisgah Pike | $25 | Yes, you read that right. This beginner yoga class is taught inside the paddock and lets you get up close and personal with The Kentucky Castleâs newest farm babies.

The city is implementing its Heat Plan today due to a heat index of ~95Âș. The plan will be in effect until the end of the day. Services include: free LexTran rides to cooling centers (1400 Gainesway Dr. and 545 N. Upper St.) + half-price admission to public pools.

Heading back to school just got a bit sweeter. All month long, The Futile Bakery will be serving up childhood treats â think Oatmeal Cream Pies, Cosmic Brownies, Pop Tarts, and PB+J cookies. Add your favorite cartoons to the Netflix queue and head to 399 Waller Ave., Ste. 130 to snag these nostalgic treats.

Lussi Brown Coffee Bar released its autumn drink menu + it features the return of a seasonal fan-favorite. The âJussi Lussiâ is fruit tea made with MonTea Peach Oolong, muddled blackberries, simple syrup, and shaken with ice. This drink is also available as a margarita during bar hours.

A new contract was signed between the city + the Lyric Theatre that will allow the WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour to continue to broadcast from The Lyric Theatree for another five years. The radio broadcast airs on 500+ radio stations across the world and celebrates grassroots music and the artists who make it. đ
Community -
The Black and Williams Neighborhood Community Center, located at 4908 Georgetown St., took several steps to improve its community room for neighborhood citizens â offering access to Wi-Fi, Chromebooks, and books for all ages. The community center is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
History -
Yesterday â Wed., Aug. 3 â was the official 22nd birthday of the Lexington Legends baseball team. The team was born in 2000 + has been swinging for the fences ever since. Happy belated birthday, Legends. âŸïž
Number -
$3,119,165. Thatâs how much money was raised at Tuesday nightâs telethon benefitting those affected by the flooding in Eastern Kentucky. During the telethon, the UK menâs basketball held an open practice for fans + made several exciting announcements about the upcoming season. (LEX18)
Cause -
During the telethon, UKâs senior guard, Sahvir Wheeler, announced that the annual Blue-White preseason scrimmage game will be held in Eastern Kentucky this year. Full details were not disclosed, but Sahvir said the game âmight beâ held in Pikeville â home to the Appalachian Wireless Arena which can seat 5,700 people. đ (Lexington Herald-Leader)

Additionally, Coach Cal announced that the Wildcats would face a new + challenging nonconference opponent for the 2022-2023 season â the Gonzaga Bulldogs. The Wildcats and the Bulldogs have only faced off once in each of the schoolsâ history â in 2002 when the No. 15 Cats beat the No. 20 Bulldogs 80-72. đ (Lexington Herald-Leader + Big Blue History)

In soccer news, the UK menâs team were ranked No. 8 by the United Soccer Coaches Association in its 2022 preseason menâs college soccer rankings.
