City commissioner Laura Foley and council member Fred Brown have proposed a road diet for North Limestone to help alleviate community concerns such as speeding and frequent collisions. The traffic-calming road diet approach would include changes like ā reducing vehicle speed, creating bicycle lanes + increasing space between parking and travel lanes. š£ļø

Next Wed., July 13 at 6 p.m., CivicLex is hosting an interactive workshop on the Lexington Fayette Urban County Government budget at the Pam Miller Downtown Arts Center, 141 E. Main St. The workshop will give attendees a breakdown of this year's budget, the budget creation process, and more.

Community-led organization KY Tenants is inviting the public to share their thoughts + possible solutions regarding the Lexington housing market. The Town Hall on the Housing Crisis will be held Fri., July 22 from 6-8 p.m. at the Lyric Theatre + dinner will be provided.

The Lexington Theatre Company is hosting a special benefit event called Concert Under the Stars on Tues., July 19 at Equus Run Vineyards, 1280 Moores Mill Rd., Midway. Wine tastings will be available for purchase at 5 p.m. + the concert ā featuring next generation theater artists ā kicks off at 7:30 p.m. š·

Downtown Lexington Partnership President/CEO Terry Sweeney will be leaving his role on July 15. The executive committee is working to appoint an interim President/CEO + will begin the search for a permanent replacement within the next month and a half. (The Lane Report)
