Summer Nights - Red White & Blues

Moondance Amphitheater
Friday, July 5, 2024 | 7 – 9  p.m.

Kick off the festivities and spend a beautiful summer night with family and friends enjoying the tunes of local blues legend Tee Dee Young! Food trucks and cold drinks will be available for purchase!

Sweeten up the holiday week with a free cool treat, live music, children's games and activities! Food and beverage concession trucks will also be onsite for dinner options!

Main show: 7:30 p.m. | Lexington Philharmonic

Spend the Fourth of July eve with the Lexington Philharmonic and a thoughtful program celebrating America.   

Bring your blankets, lawn chairs and a picnic or enjoy dinner from a variety of food trucks. 

Bluegrass 10,000 & Fun Run

Thursday, July 4, 2024 | BG10K at 7:25 a.m. and Fun Run at 8:30 a.m. 

Ready, set, sign up! Kick off the Fourth of July at the 48th annual Bluegrass 10,000 and Fun Run. Cheer on the runners or get in on the action by running the 10K or 1-mile Fun Run. To participate in the fun you may register at the link below for the wheelchair, 10K or Fun Run:

Thursday, July 4, 2024 | 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. 

Enjoy live music and children’s activities, or shop for arts and crafts and get a good spot to watch the parade. Food and beverage vendors will be on-site to help with your lunchtime needs. Festivities take place before, during and after the parade.

Public Reading of the United States Declaration of Independence

Historic Lexington Courthouse 
215 W. Main St.
Thursday, July 4, 2024 | 10 a.m.

Happy Birthday, America! The founding fathers signed this declaration on July 4, 1776 and America will celebrate its 248th birthday in 2024.

Everyone is invited to gather on the stairs of the old Historic Lexington Courthouse to commemorate the reading of the founding document of the United States.

Those in attendance will be invited to read aloud a short portion of the Declaration.

Fourth of July Parade

Main Street (Downtown)
Thursday, July 4, 2024 | noon  

The Fourth of July parade steps off at noon and will move down Main Street from Midland to Mill Street. There will be plenty of red, white and blue to get everyone in the patriotic spirit. 

Enjoy the parade from the sideline, or register ahead of time if you wish to participate.

Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular

Close out your Fourth of July celebration with a bang! The fireworks extravaganza will start at approximately 10 p.m.
